Military wedding in Ottawa
As an Ottawa wedding photographer, I see a lot of military weddings but I had yet to photograph a military wedding of my own. Until last summer.James and Amy met at the 2015 Women's World Cup games held in Ottawa. Amy and her friends went to a pub to celebrate after their team won. There James was. Sitting right beside Amy. After talking, they both realized they went to the same church and had many friends in common. They never knew that eventually this interaction would lead to James proposing in a helicopter in Petawawa. They had their first look at Nepean’s point. Amy and James wrote personal letters to one another to read just before their first look. Cue the tears! We continued the portraits of this Military bride and groom at Major Hill's park. This was followed by a Knox Presbyterian Church wedding ceremony. Their military friends made the bride's dream come true when they did a military saber arch for their church exit as husband and wife. A beautiful tradition in military weddings.James and Amy, I want to thank you for being so kind and so wonderful. Your wedding day had so many beautiful military wedding traditions. It was truly one for the books!
