Intimate backyard wedding Ottawa
Backyard wedding
They wanted a casual and intimate feel to their outdoor wedding. That's why they chose to have an intimate backyard wedding at Kate's childhood home. Also, to have a celebration that was kid friendly. From the bride: 'Knowing that I am going to be getting married on the same lawn that I grew up on and played hide and seek in gives me the warm fuzzies.' Kate being a resourceful bride, hand made her own bouquet with SOLA flowers. Attached to her bouquet was her late grandmother's broach.
Outdoor ceremony
Jason and Kate decided to have an 'unplugged ceremony'. Where phones and cameras were turned off so their loved ones could be fully present. After the beautiful outdoor ceremony, kids were welcome to partake in games. Like the giant bouncy castle. While cocktail hour was starting, Kate and Jason had a special place in mind for their Bride and Groom photos. Their 'forever home' as Kate calls it. Where they had a bottle of champagne waiting for them. Kate took off her shoes and went barefoot for the remainder of the day. I'll always love a barefoot bride.
Jason and Kate, I could not have imagined your wedding any other way. I’m so grateful to you and your family for all the humour. But most of all, for all the kindness.
