Winter barn wedding Ottawa
As an Ottawa wedding photographer, most of my weddings are during the summer. I haven't photographed a Winter barn wedding in Ottawa for nearly three years now. I missed it dearly. To photograph a winter bride is completely magic to me. This rustic winter wedding was no different. I've met Sydnie through my sister who boards her horse at her barn. To know Sydnie is to love her. She's a sweetheart with a passion for animals and reading the classics. Conar is a traveler and compliments her to perfection. To calm their nerves, they enjoyed their poison of choice. Scotch for the gentlemen and tequila for the ladies. Sydnie got ready in her parents' farmhouse. For this country bride, Sydnie wore beautifully embroidered cowboy boots. Making sure she had thick socks and appropriate outerwear for this Canadian winter. With floor lenght grey bridesmaids dresses and matching boots, this is serious winter wedding inspiration. They exchanged letters to each other right before their first look. Which brought Conar to tears immediately. Seeing his bride where they spent most of their time together meant so much to them. Their reaction was nothing less than heartwarming. They were in awe of each other and soaking in all these precious moments in their little love bubble. We finished off bride and groom portraits with a few photos of the bride and her horse of course! She went right in the horse pen and kissed him.Knowing they had a winter wedding and that daylight ended at four o'clock, they opted to do all of their photos before their ceremony. This way, we ensure maximal natural light photos. When Sydnie walked down the aisle with her dad, tears were rolling down her face. They finally got married! They made their grand entrance at their reception with the theme song of 'Brooklyn nine nine' and Sydnie surprised her brother by dancing with him to their favorite song together.Their winter wedding was a fearless expression of deep love. It was also a celebration of family. Everyone helped to make it the best day ever. Her brother sang at the reception for their first dance. Her sister made their cookie wedding cake and did her bridal hair. It truly takes a village and they couldn't had a better village.Conar & Sydnie, I'm in awe of you. Of your love, your wedding day and the people you surround yourselves with. I'm so grateful I got to be your wedding photographer and even more excited I'll get to see you guys grow as a married couple.
