Jewel tea pavilion wedding
Nicholas and Marisa met in New-York in a bar. Til this day, who called who first is still up for debate. Nonetheless, they have been building a life together these past few years in Las Vegas. When they thought about where to have their wedding, they knew they wanted a destination wedding. Not being beach people, Chicago came to mind. Soon enough, their jewel tea pavilion wedding was in the works.
The first look happened in the backyard of Nicholas’s grandmother's house. Where he spent his summers swimming and boating. Their families were present and they had a cocktail party for the bride and groom before the ceremony. The bride and groom had Swanson wine from Swanson vineyards in vintage wine glasses. At Jewel tea pavilion, their outdoor ceremony took place in the citizens park. It wasn’t one minute after the ceremony that everyone hugged and cried. Especially watching the bride and her step dad, it was impossible not to cry myself. While photographing this scene and again while editing the photos.
Treehouse wedding
Already having done most of their portraits during their first look, we ventured for a few short minutes to the treehouse. I find dreams have a tendency to come true. I mean, a treehouse wedding and a bride and groom ? This was too good. The reception was filled with games, bubbles, dancing and my favourite part… Pies !
I want to thank Marisa and Nicholas for their kindness, generosity and for picking me up at the airport. I want to thank their family for treating me as one of their own. Also, for inviting me at their rehearsal dinner. I can’t tell you enough how much fun I had and how much of an honour it was to be your Chicago destination wedding photographer.
