How to choose your wedding photographer?
You just got engaged. You have your wedding venue booked and now it's time to choose your wedding photographer. You're spending your evenings watching Netflix while scrolling Pinterest for some pretty wedding photos. This is how you find your wedding photographer, right? Before you start, you should define a few things first. Without no further ado, here is how to choose your wedding photographer.
style
This is a great place to start. The knot has a quick article called styles of wedding photography you need to know. There are a lot more than five styles but most photographers fall into one of those categories. Do you love bright or moody wedding photos? Do you want lifestyle, fine art or documentary style photos? To give you a reference, my photography style is bright and airy and my approach is Fine art.
Personality
What is your vibe as a couple? Are you light and happy or are you more calm and relaxed? It will be easier and more comfortable to be photographed by someone like you. Someone that you have lots in common with. How can you find out? I would go do some research on their website, Instagram and blog. Look into personal blog posts. Of course, nothing beats meeting in person. If you feel comfortable to open up and be yourself, you will love your photos.
I hope this gave you some insight. I know you'll find the right wedding photographer for you.
